BEAT THE STRESS EFFECT!Have you ever gotten home at the end of a long day and just wanted to crawl into bed? While many people believe that there is both good and bad stress, there really is not. Stress does not know good from bad. It is our reaction or response that causes the problem.

As Zig Ziglar said, “We do not get ulcers from what we eat. Rather, we get ulcers from what is eating us.” Here are just a few ideas on how you can beat the effects of a stressful day.

Have an exercise plan: It does not have to be a trip to the gym. Even if you just take a 30 minute walk through your neighborhood every evening, your stress level will drop.

Get enough sleep: According to the National Sleep Foundation, over 30% of the United States population suffers from sleep deprivation.

Get rid of the poisons: This goes without saying – smoking, overindulging in alcohol, junk food.

Drink and eat better: We all have this challenge to some degree. I, for one, love pizza and could eat pizza 3-4 times per week and be content. I have begun a much better plan for myself and encourage you to do the same. The wrong foods and lack of proper hydration will increase the fatigue factor.

Reduce TV time: We are becoming a vegetative society and television is not helping. What makes it worse is what we are watching. We need to watch more comedy. It has been shown that when we laugh we reduce the problems of stress

Eliminate negative self talk: Negative self talk will sabotage any goal you may have. Napoleon Hill said it best, “What the mind can conceive, the body can achieve.”
