The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People
This is the quintessential book of modern day.
Dr. Covey shares those habits that the most effective people in the world have in common.
Each habit stands on its own, and combined they truly are the leadership guides for today’s leader.
From motivation to delegation to simply leading others.
My personal favorite habit is #5 – Seek first to Understand – then be understood.
This is an easy habit to recognize – and a VERY difficult habit to master.
I believe this is the core habit to all of our communication in and out of the office - which in turn establishes our past, current and future relationships.
Good to Great
Every chapter is critical in this powerful book.

He found numerous similarities between them and shares these secrets.
Chapter 3 — First Who Then What — outlines why it is sometimes better to leave a position empty rather than hire a warm body to fill the spot.
Thos organizations that understand this are those organizations that are currently moving from Good – to – Great.

In fact, he clearly defines the difference between managing and leading, and points out that everyone has the capability of being a leader.
Another personal favorite is the Law of Empowerment.
The great Admiral James B. Stockdale is quoted about developing leaders with a heart and having the ability to understand that by giving power away you in turn get more power back to you.

This book is one of the greatest parables ever told – regardless of your position this little book will have a profound impact on your life and the relationships you have both in and out of the office.
Who Moved My Cheese?
In the last few years there are few books that can change the impact on change like this little book.
For once you will see yourself in a book and the sight may not be a pretty one – for once in your life you will want to be a mouse.
The new mantra is not, do you like change - but rather how quickly you can adapt to change.
